"Dark Gloom"

Here is my block for today! This one is called "Dark Gloom" It has 32 pieces in it. This makes 49 blocks. I have all eleven blocks in the first row done, so I cut all of the lattice strips and cornerstones so that I could sew the first row together!

I will post a photo of what I have done so far later, I have to stretch it out and take a photo of it. I have to say, I think this is going to be one of my favorites!!!! So....49 down and 72 more to go!!!

Anxieties!

Well, this block is certainly named correctly "Anxieties" This little 6 inch block has a total of 65 pieces in it and wouldn't you know that I would sew it together WRONG! If you look close you can see that the bottom corner is backwards!!!!

But I will not be redoing this little bugger tonight! I am too tired to fool with it. Anyway this block makes me 48 of them! I would love to get all 121 of these blocks together before I start the Civil War Love Letters quilt in the Fall. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens...

Hungry Soldiers

This makes my second block tonight!!! I was going to wait until tomorrow to do it but I got rather bored. This one is called "Hungry Soldiers" it is from the first row and block number eight. This one wasn't hard but it did take a while longer since it has 40 pieces in it.

This block makes 47, I would love to hit 50 by the end of the week. Only 3 more blocks so maybe that won't be too bad.

Battle Of Springfield

Here is today's block! This one is called "Battle Of Springfield" It is from row 1 and block 7. A very simple block with only 29 pieces.
I have been just bouncing around on these blocks and I probably still will but I noticed that I almost have all of the blocks in the first row finished. I am really enjoying this quilt, I can't wait to get it finished. This block makes me 46 of them!!!

Today's Blocks!

I finally got back to working on my Civil War Diary quilt. Today I finished two more blocks. This first one is called, "Alarming Conditions" it is the first block in the first row. For some reason this block gave me fits. It took me about 2 hours to do it. Sometimes the easiest blocks just don't go together the way you want. This is the first block in this quilt that I have had problems with, but it was just me.

This block is called "Conscript Laws" first row, third block. This one went together very easy! I love this quilt!
By chance if anyone runs on to my blog here, I do have another blog that I post daily on. It has all of my quilting and family adventures on it. It is called Quilting Cowgirl!

2 More Blocks!

Tonight I have made two more blocks for my quilt. This now takes my total up to 43! I had not worked on this quilt for a month, I can't believe it had been that long. I would like to get at least 2 more finished before the end of this month. Only 6 more days and I have alot of company coming this weekend for Hunter's birthday party, so hopefully I can squeeze two more blocks in.

Anyway, this first block is called "Gloomy Prospects" from Row 2, block 2.

This one is called "Robbers" from row 3, block 4.
Now I'm off to clean up my mess...

May's Civil War Blocks

This post is a little late, but these are the Civil War Blocks that I made back in May when my computer was down! I just love making these blocks, I find them very relaxing. These make 41/121 blocks. ONLY 80 more to go!!!


Hopefully, I can get back to working on these soon.
